My name is Mrs. Ann Mitchell, and I am delighted to serve as the principal of Falling Branch Elementary School. This is my seventeenth year in administration. I have worked as an elementary curriculum facilitator, an elementary principal, a high school assistant principal, and recently as a high school principal for seven years. I have taught grades K-7. I am a lifelong learner dedicated to the field of education.

My commitment to education began at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NC A&T) in Greensboro, where I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. I continued my studies at NC A&T, earning a Master's in Reading/Secondary Education and a Master of School Administration. While serving as a high school principal, I embarked on a Doctoral Program at the University of Greensboro, NC, furthering my knowledge and understanding of the education system.

While my professional life has taken me to various places, I am originally from a small rural area in North Carolina called Yanceyville. Prior to relocating to Virginia,  my husband and I made our home in the Greensboro area.  My husband and I both enjoy serving and helping others, and he is a registered nurse. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, traveling, reading, setting up aquariums, and, most importantly, spending quality time with my family.

I enjoy connecting with the FBE family and community as we will remain the best-kept secret in Virginia.

My email address is Email or call the school if you need assistance or support.
